The Solid Waste Transfer Station is a well-designed facility to handle waste, traffic, and effectively
manages over 150,000 transactions annually involving private and municipal haulers and the general public.
The facility processes annually over 90,000 tons of solid waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
Located on County Services Parkway in Marietta, the Transfer Station is also a convenient location for
residents to drop off recycling products-at no charge. The facility is open 57 hours a week including
Saturdays during which time as many as 1,000 people drop off recyclable materials.
Disposal Charges:
There is a minimum charge of $7.00 for the first 400 pounds of waste materials disposed of at the Transfer
Station. Weight in excess of 400 pounds is charged at a pro-rated rate of $35.00 per ton.
Certain recyclable materials (tires, used motor oil, used antifreeze, and electronic devices) must also cross the scales and do incur the $7.00 minimum charge. Additional charges will be applied for disposal of tires. This is due to security requirements and extensive handling and expenses required to process and ship these items.
Recycled products accepted FREE of charge:
Plastics #1 and #2, tin cans, cardboard, junk-mail, aluminum cans, clean glass separated by color (clear,
green and brown), newspaper, magazines, phone books, office paper, car and truck batteries.
Paper types do not have to be separated.
